When We Pick Apples Virtual Screening w/ Nodutdol

(Directed by Yong-ho Kim (1971, 102 min)

Prepare to spend a night with Write Brain TV & Nodutdol, an organization breaking stigmas about the DPRK and fighting for the reunification of Korea. We’ll be hosting a special one-night only virtual screening of the film When We Pick Apples. The film follows a villager that works in Pukch’ŏng apple village, where she produces apples with the best quality and encourages the villagers to join her efforts. Nodutdol will present the film with speakers, offering a deep dive into the history of the DPRK, before presenting a high quality, hard to find print of the film with English subtitles. This is going to be an eye-opening film, and an opportunity you don’t want to miss! If the DPRK is new to you, or you’ve only learned about it from US history books and mainstream media, this event will offer a rare glimpse into one of the world’s most stigmatized countries. Proceeds from the screening will go to helping Nodutdol with their yearly trip to Korea to continue their activism! Virtual screening is June 15th at 8 pm EST. This is a private event and you must have a ticket (no exceptions).
